William Nguyen
Assistant Professor, Graduate School of Science and Engineering (Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering), Ibaraki University
D. from Regina University, Canada. He has completed his doctoral study at the University of Regina in Canada. He was a research associate at the Clean Energy Technologies Research Institute (CETRI), and an assistant professor at Nagoya University. He was also an adjunct professor at the University of Regina before joining Ibaraki University Hitachi Campus -Carbon Recycling Energy Research Center (CRERC).
Previously, his research focused on CO2 capture by amine solutions and solid zeolite sorbents. In addition to experimental work, his research applied computational fluid dynamics (CFDs) to model the CO2 capture processes.
At CRERC, he is working on the topic of CO2 capture - direct air capture (DAC).

Born in Tokyo. After working for Tonen Corporation, Tonen General Sekiyu K.K., and JXTG Energy Corporation, he joined Ibaraki University in 2024. He has been involved in most of the Japanese fuel standards discussions such as gasoline vapor pressure, octane rating, and ETBE/ethanol as a representative researcher and engineer in the industry. Currently, he specializes in the establishment and advancement of truly sustainable energy systems based on resilience and economic evaluation of mobility energy.
