MoU Signing Between Ibaraki University and University of Technology Malaysia Highlights International Academic Cooperation

Ibaraki University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on academic exchange with the University of Technology Malaysia.

MoU Exchange Ceremony was held at the Malaysia Pavilion of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai on July 21, 2025. At the ceremony, commemorative gifts were exchanged between President Hiroyuki Ohta of Ibaraki University and Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohd Shafry bin Mohd Rahim of the University of Technology Malaysia. A commemorative photo session with attendees followed the exchange.

The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is part of higher education activities hosted by Malaysia's Ministry of Higher Education, aimed at strengthening international cooperation between higher education institutions of both countries.

Going forward, Ibaraki University plans to strengthen collaboration in research and education related to carbon-neutral energy between the two universities, with the Ibaraki University Carbon Recycling Energy Research Center (CRERC) playing a central role. Attending the ceremony from CRERC were Director Professor Kotaro Tanaka and Professor Keiichi Koseki.
